Celadine is the classic yellow Hawaiian lei flower — if you have worn a fresh plumeria lei on the islands, chances are it was strung from blooms like these. The scent is pure orange blossom, strong enough to recognize with your eyes closed. Of the varieties our family has grown across three decades, Celadine is the one we hand to first-time growers: cuttings callus and root quickly, usually at the early end of the 4–8 week range in warm weather, and plants often bloom in their first season. It also handles winter dormancy and spring wake-up better than most, which matters to growers in zone 9 and the cooler corners of Texas and Florida.
